As Stemilt’s CA Sales Support & AR Claims Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless operations across production, sales, and accounting. From April to June, during the dynamic CA cherry season, and again from December to February, during our import cherry program; you will wear many hats, monitoring inventory levels, handling order management, scheduling, and reporting. Once the season concludes, you will switch gears and work to ensure accounting accuracy for our growers and move into a role of assisting with claims and collections. This position supports three thousand Stemilters and it’s required to deliver extraordinary customer service at all levels, in addition to accurate and timely order entry, keeping management informed by submitting activity and results reports, and providing other Departments with requested information as needed. Excellent math and communication skills, both written and verbal, a must. Overtime and a flexible schedule required during May-June and December-February. Please note: This job is based in California. Applicants must be willing to work in California. Key Responsibilities · Develop deep product expertise and collaborate closely with QC, Production, Sales, and Shipping teams. · Monitor inventory rotation, orders, and carrier arrivals to ensure smooth operations. · Support management by preparing and maintaining accurate reports. · Partner with Sales and Accounting to maintain clean, collectible accounts receivable. · Navigate and work efficiently within various customer portals. · Research and resolve unidentified payment deductions. · Gather data and submit claims accurately and timely. · Process debits and credits on customer accounts. · Communicate with Customer’s Accounts Payable department, including sending statements, past‑due notices, and revised invoices. · Deliver excellent internal and external customer service. · Demonstrate reliability with strong attention to detail. Experience: · Experience in Agriculture, Produce Sales or accounting a plus. Qualifications: Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two-years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. · Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. · Demonstrates accuracy and integrity in data entry, supported by solid computer skills. · Comfortable communicating verbally—in person and over the phone. · Knowledge of fruit grades, varieties, packs, sizes, customer packaging, and quality requirements. · Proven ability to deliver high‑quality results with a transparent, consultative, and collaborative approach. · Strong attention to detail. · Excellent math skills. · Commitment to embracing change with purpose, flexibility, and adaptability. Preferred: · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with strong mathematical aptitude. · Experience in Produce, Sales or Accounting. · Knowledge of PACA regulations.
