THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a technically skilled Cabinet Engineer with a background in CAD design or CNC programming who is eager to expand their expertise into Microvellum. This role is an opportunity to be trained in Microvellum and grow into a central position within our engineering department.
You will play a vital role in transforming architectural designs into accurate, production-ready data for the shop floor. This is not just a drafting role—you will be contributing to the heart of our engineering process, helping optimize designs for manufacturability, reduce errors, and ensure our production team has precise, usable data. With training and mentorship, you will build the foundation to become a Microvellum subject matter expert, directly impacting project quality, efficiency, and profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required:

  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) or CNC programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and architectural documents.
  • Strong technical aptitude with interest in woodworking, cabinetry, or millwork.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Problem-solving abilities and clear communication skills.
  • Desire to learn Microvellum and build long-term expertise.

Preferred (Bonus Qualifications):

  • Familiarity with woodworking or cabinet/millwork production.
  • Exposure to CNC post-processors and machine programming.
  • Experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets).
  • Degree or certificate in Wood Technology, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Design Support

  • Interpret floor plans, architectural drawings, and specifications into shop drawings.
  • Assist in producing submittal packages, including elevations, sections, and details for approval.
  • Generate manufacturing data such as cut lists and CNC programs (Microvellum training provided).

Process & Collaboration

  • Learn to build and maintain Microvellum libraries of materials, hardware, and construction standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, and Shop Floor leaders to provide solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Support integration with our INNERGY ERP system to ensure accurate data flows across departments.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Review drawings and outputs for accuracy and completeness before release to production.
  • Help troubleshoot issues with production data and work with the shop team to resolve them.
  • Contribute to workflow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce material waste.
