A Cabinet Sander is responsible for preparing wooden cabinet components for finishing by smoothing surfaces, removing imperfections, and ensuring a flawless texture. This role is essential in achieving high-quality craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal in cabinetry. Finish Support: Assist in applying stains, sealers, or coatings by ensuring surfaces are properly prepped. Inspection: Examine wood surfaces for smoothness and mark defects such as cracks, knotholes, or splits. Tool Operation: Operate sanding equipment including drum sanders, orbital sanders, and edge sanders. Maintenance: Clean and maintain sanding tools and machines to ensure optimal performance. Safety Compliance: Follow shop safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear. Requirements Required Skills Attention to Detail: Ability to detect surface imperfections and ensure consistent smoothness. Dexterity: Skilled hand-eye coordination for precise sanding. Mechanical Aptitude: Familiarity with sanding machines and basic maintenance. Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for long periods and handling repetitive tasks. Qualifications No formal education required; on-the-job training provided. Experience in woodworking or cabinet manufacturing is a plus
