Description Corona Millworks is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the daily manufacturing operations of our Cabinet Door and Drawer Box departments at our Tolleson, Arizona facility. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and optimizing production while ensuring safety, quality, labor efficiency, and on-time customer delivery. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will provide leadership to Production Supervisors, Leads, and production employees while driving operational excellence, employee development, and continuous improvement throughout the facility. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a hands-on manager who thrives on the production floor, builds strong teams, and consistently delivers results. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop Production Supervisors, Leads, and production employees. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Establish clear performance expectations and provide coaching, development, and performance feedback. Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and succession planning efforts. Promote employee engagement while maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability. Production Management Plan, organize, direct, and oversee daily manufacturing operations for Cabinet Doors, Drawer Boxes, CNC, Assembly, and Packaging. Coordinate production priorities with Customer Service, Scheduling, Engineering, Purchasing, Shipping, and Maintenance. Ensure customer orders are manufactured accurately and delivered on schedule. Balance labor, equipment, and production capacity to maximize efficiency. Monitor production schedules and proactively address bottlenecks, delays, and resource constraints. Drive daily production meetings and communicate priorities across departments. Operational Excellence Develop, implement, and maintain standardized manufacturing processes and best practices. Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze production metrics to improve labor efficiency, productivity, throughput, and quality. Reduce scrap, remakes, downtime, and overtime through proactive planning and process improvements. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, and operational performance. Quality Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications. Partner with Quality and Engineering to resolve production and quality concerns. Promote first-pass quality throughout all manufacturing processes. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained. Safety Promote and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment. Conduct routine safety observations and ensure corrective actions are completed. Foster a culture where safety is a core value. Communication & Collaboration Build strong working relationships across all departments. Communicate production performance, staffing needs, quality concerns, and operational issues to the Plant Manager. Collaborate with Customer Service and Scheduling to proactively manage customer expectations. Support company initiatives and organizational goals through effective communication and leadership. Other Responsibilities Monitor labor utilization, overtime, and departmental performance. Maintain accurate production records and performance metrics. Perform other duties as assigned. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):The Production Manager will be evaluated on performance including, but not limited to: On-Time Production (95%+) Labor Efficiency Schedule Adherence Production Throughput Scrap Rate Rework/Remake Rate Overtime Management Safety Performance Quality Performance Employee Development and Retention Continuous Improvement Initiatives Qualifications and Skills: Minimum 7 years of progressive manufacturing experience. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience managing Production Supervisors, Leads, and production employees. Cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, millwork, or closely related industry experience required. Demonstrated success improving labor efficiency, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery. Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, quality systems, inventory flow, and manufacturing operations. Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement initiatives. Experience managing production KPIs and using operational data to drive decision-making. Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems within a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Experience in custom manufacturing or made-to-order production environments. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred. Experience leading change management initiatives. Project management experience preferred.
