About this Opportunity: This position is responsible for assembly of cables, harness assemblies, electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies with significant wiring and cable content. Responsibilities: Assembles cables, cable harnesses, and electronic/electro-mechanical assemblies under limited supervision. Provides technical assistance to less skilled assemblers Assigns work to be performed for Cable Assembler 1. Checks part count and any special packaging or handling requirements. Sets up parts in work area, selects tools required to complete the operation, performs most types of testing (e.g. “pull test”, “cirrus test”, etc), and submits first piece for QA approval. Saves first part as sample to use as a reference and inspects parts frequently to assure meeting quality requirements. Notifies the lead if discrepancy from a previous operation is determined. Assures proper handling and stacking of parts. Determines when and if a process is complete and assures accurate count. Cleans work area. Adds special tooling or templates to department’s tooling lists and notifies the inspector or lead to update work order. May perform other product testing including hi-pot, continuity, and specialized electrical and safety testing under limited supervision. Requirements Requires at least 2 years experience producing complex cable assemblies. solder, crimp, and strip wires operate automated crimping and stripping equipment perform basic arithmetic problems, read blueprints, and schematics understand moderately complex written and verbal instructions work effectively with minimal supervision Ability to Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
