About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Cable Jointer to join a trusted New Zealand energy and network services provider supporting customers across the Central North Island. You’ll be part of a high-performing field team responsible for the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of low and high-voltage underground power cables across network, industrial, and commercial environments. This is a hands-on role requiring technical precision, a strong safety mindset, and pride in delivering quality work that keeps communities connected. What You’ll Do Carry out LV and HV cable jointing, terminations, and fault repairs to industry and network standards Install and connect underground power systems, including new customer connections and network upgrades Read and interpret plans, drawings, and cable schedules Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and compliance requirements Work collaboratively with line mechanics, electricians, and supervisors to complete projects safely and efficiently Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used Participate in on-call and after-hours fault response rosters as required What You’ll Bring Qualified Cable Jointer with relevant trade certification (EWRB registration preferred) Proven experience in LV/HV underground jointing and termination Knowledge of distribution network standards and safe work practices Current NZ Class 1 Driver’s Licence (Class 2 an advantage) Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice Ability to read drawings, follow procedures, and deliver quality workmanship Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills Physically fit and willing to work in the field environment year-round To Apply If you’re a motivated Cable Jointer looking for your next opportunity in the energy and utilities sector, we’d love to hear from you.
