As a Cable Jointer, you will be instrumental in delivering safe and efficient upgrades to the electrical distribution network across Western Australia. This role involves working on both metropolitan and regional projects, contributing to the reliability and resilience of critical infrastructure. You’ll be part of a team focused on quality, safety, and timely execution of field operations. Key Responsibilities: Execute planned customer projects, including low-voltage (LV) cable and pillar terminations, high-voltage (HV) switchgear connections, installation of pad-mounted transformers, and streetlight and pit terminations Support critical network enhancement initiatives such as feeder reinforcements and transformer upgrades to improve system capacity and reliability. Contribute to the delivery of network resilience programs across both Metro and Regional WA Collaborate on infrastructure improvement projects throughout Metro and Regional WA, ensuring consistent service quality and reliability Ensure all field activities are conducted in accordance with safety, quality, and compliance standards What’s in it for you? As part of our Western Power team, you’ll enjoy: $66.80 – $73.54 per hour PLUS $4.00 per hour site allowance Regular opportunities to work away, with generous allowances Ongoing overtime and weekend work available for those who want extra earning potential Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance Two rostered days off every fortnight A balanced mix of metro and regional work to keep things interesting Living Away from Home Allowance (LAFHA) of up to $355 per day for regional travel Access to brand new tools, equipment, and fleet vehicles What we’re looking for: We’re seeking skilled and safety-focused Cable Jointers who bring experience, qualifications, and a great attitude to the team, as well as: Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Distribution Cable Jointing (UET30819 or equivalent) HV & LV Switching authorised on Western Power’s Network Current Driver’s Licence – C Class Proven experience carrying out Distribution Jointing & Switching activities Leadership qualities suitable for a lead-level role Highly regarded: Issuing Officer, Recipient in Charge & eNAR writing Paper Lead HV and LV qualifications SACs accreditation EWP, HRWL – DG, LF, CV or higher We’re open to covering relocation costs for the right candidate and encourage qualified Cable Jointers from interstate and New Zealand to apply.
