JOB DESCRIPTION:

Synergy underground utilities is currently looking for an RF technician to join our team and assist with the installation and turn up of telecom equipment. Experience is an asset but willing to train. The ideal candidate must hold a valid “G” License. Any experience and knowledgeable in telecommunications construction methodologies is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be able to provide a high level of technical support ensuring quality of service and professionalism at every customer interaction.
  • Be able to manage efficiently and ensure that deadlines are met to satisfy customer demands.
  • Be able to apply due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all necessary documentation including purchase requisitions and timesheets.
  • Must be able to carry and climb a twenty-eight-foot extension ladder weighing 80 pounds.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must have the dexterity to use hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, pliers, side cutters, etc.)
  • Must be able to safely lift loads of 65 lbs.
  • Must have the flexibility to work night shifts as required.
  • Must be competent with working at heights.
  • Must be well organized and be able to work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Responsibility for the tidiness, cleanliness, and operation maintenance of the company vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Install, replace, and set-up a diverse selection of equipment in HFC networks including (but not limited to) Amplifiers, Multitaps, Splitters and Nodes.
  • Troubleshoot & Repair cable faults in underground and aerial infrastructure using tools such as: TDR, Locator, A-Frame etc.
  • Re-powering procedures, Familiar with 60v & 90v A/C systems and equipment. Understand and calculate power load (AMP Draw).
  • Read, understand and asbuilt design drawings. Keep up to date with paperwork and documentation.
  • Familiar with use and maintenance of specialty tools such as Signal Meter, Light Meter, Voltmeter.
  • Ensure customer specification is met.
