JOB SUMMARY

As a Cabling Helper, you will be an essential part of our team responsible for installing and maintaining network cabling and connectivity solutions. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learn the ropes of cabling and networking, and have the chance to grow in a rapidly evolving industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in structured cabling or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Must pass a required background check and preemployment drug screening.
  • Enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn about cabling and networking.
  • Willingness to work hands-on and in various environments.
  • Basic understanding of technology and hardware is a plus.

SKILLS:

  • Basic understanding of network cabling and infrastructure.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including heights, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods.
  • Ability to use both hands for tasks such as pulling cables.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in Installation: Support the installation of voice, data, and fiber optic cabling systems under the guidance of a Structured Cabling Technician.
  • Cable Management: Properly route, label, and secure cables to maintain organized and efficient infrastructure.
  • Equipment Setup: Assist with setting up and configuring hardware, including patch panels, network racks, and other cabling-related equipment.
  • Material Handling: Pick up and move materials such as cable reels or boxes, racks, trays, etc., to the required areas.
  • Cable Pulling: Pull cables from ladders or the ground using both hands.
  • Ladder Work: Move, set up, and climb ladders to reach installation areas.
  • Site Preparation: Help prepare job sites, ensuring that all necessary tools and materials are available and organized.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and protocols, maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry standards and best practices, seeking opportunities to learn and improve skills.
