QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field preferred).
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software – Cabinet Vision and AlphaCAM are strongly preferred.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery, cutting tools, and toolpath generation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Previous experience in supply chain or inventory control is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Regular use of hands for handling tools, controls, and components.
  • Frequent standing, talking, hearing, and reaching; occasional climbing, kneeling, or crawling.
  • Must be comfortable working in environments with moving machinery and varying noise levels (within OSHA standards).
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative CAD/CAM Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in transforming engineering plans into manufacturable products by utilizing design software such as Cabinet Vision, AlphaCAM, and CNC programming tools. You’ll contribute to the design, planning, and optimization of cabinetry, millwork, and furniture components for custom manufacturing projects.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about manufacturing technology, computer-integrated processes, and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize CAD/CAM software (Cabinet Vision, AlphaCAM) to design and nest components for cabinetry, millwork, and furniture.
  • Interpret job orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and GD&T to plan machining processes.
  • Determine machine operations and select proper cutting tools for optimal performance and product quality.
  • Revise and test CNC programs to eliminate errors and ensure production meets specifications.
  • Conduct trial runs and simulations to verify tool paths, cutting patterns, and safety standards.
  • Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot issues during drilling, grooving, and cutting operations.
  • Support quality control initiatives by ensuring all products meet specifications and tolerances.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, including the feasibility of 3D printing integration.
  • Collaborate across departments to support production schedules, inventory needs, and process improvements.
