Description
The CADCAM Engineer must be a highly skilled and detail-orientated engineer with a strong background in CADCAM software and CNC precision machining. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective production. Job Responsibilities: Develop CAM programs for lathe, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines. Perform toolpath optimization, collision detection, and machining simulations. Develop, implement, and optimize CNC machining processes for new and existing products. Create detailed process documentation, including work instructions, setup sheets, and tool lists. Evaluate and select appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machining parameters. Analyze cycle times, tool wear, and machining efficiency; implement improvements. Conduct process capability studies and root cause analysis of machining-related issues. Lead or support NPI projects, ensuring manufacturability of components. Collaborate with engineering to provide DFM/DFA (design for manufacturing/assembly) feedback. Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, scrap, and cost. Train and support machinists on new processes and best practices. Support maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment as needed. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing, or related field More than 5 years of experience in a CNC precision machining environment. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of machinists and other staffs. Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, NX CAM, Camworks, or similar. Ability to read engineering drawings and customer specifications Solid understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and project management skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling across departments.
