Description The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafter is a detail-oriented and creative professional responsible for producing precise technical drawings and design documents used in the manufacturing of custom wood components. This role plays a key part in translating design concepts and customer specifications into accurate, production-ready CAD drawings and prints. Key Responsibilities: Create and revise detailed CAD drawings for custom wood products based on design specifications, standards, and customer requirements, ensuring precision and manufacturability. Review job orders and production requirements to ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and manufacturable, applying the Measure Twice for Accuracy principle. Collaborate with Process Engineering, Production, and Customer Support Team to clarify design intent, resolve technical discrepancies, and maintain a Be Positive and collaborative working environment. Maintain consistency in drafting standards, layer structures, and file organization to ensure efficiency and repeatability. Update and maintain engineering documentation, including drawing revisions, material specifications, and design change records. Support product development and process improvement projects through design modifications and documentation updates, bringing Be Value Added ideas to improve efficiency and reduce rework. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions from design to production. Contribute ideas for workflow enhancements, tool development, or automation opportunities that improve drafting efficiency and accuracy, reflecting R.a.W principles of hard work, continuous improvement, and leadership mindset. Requirements Associate degree or technical certification in Computer-Aided Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD or comparable 2D CAD software. Prior experience in woodworking, cabinetry, or manufacturing design preferred. Strong understanding of design-to-production workflows and manufacturability principles. Excellent spatial thinking, visualization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on positive teamwork.
