We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil 3D Designer with a strong background in CAD, Civil 3D, LiDAR processing, and 3D civil modeling. This role focuses on the technical leadership, development, and delivery of geomatics and civil design products related to: Roads and access development Watercourse crossings Culverts, bridges, and arch structures Surface water management and drainage modeling The successful candidate will lead high-volume, technically dynamic projects and ensure deliverables meet engineering, environmental, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Project Delivery Lead geomatics and CAD production for civil infrastructure and watercourse crossing projects Process and analyze LiDAR datasets to generate accurate terrain models, contours, cross-sections, and surface models Develop detailed 3D models of civil works including roads, culverts, bridges, arches, and stream crossings Prepare engineering-ready drawings, grading plans, plan & profile sheets, and construction packages using Civil 3D Conduct surface water analysis and support hydraulic assessments for crossing design and regulatory compliance Integrate survey data, drone/RPAS outputs, and LiDAR into Civil 3D workflows Support culvert sizing, riprap design layouts, and erosion control planning in coordination with engineering teams Quality Control & Team Leadership Review and approve CAD and modeling deliverables Manage timelines and production under high workload and fast-paced project cycles Mentor junior technologists and CAD staff Implement and improve geospatial and CAD workflow efficiencies Ensure compliance with internal QA/QC standards and safety protocols Qualifications & Experience Required University degree or technical diploma in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline Minimum 5 years of professional CAD experience Minimum 5 years of hands-on Autodesk Civil 3D experience Strong experience working with LiDAR datasets and terrain modeling Proven experience modeling civil infrastructure (roads, stream crossings, culverts, bridges, arches) Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and surface modeling principles Experience producing IFC and construction-ready drawing packages Ability to manage high workload with dynamic and fast turnaround deliverables Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, ArcGIS or QGIS, and Microsoft 365 Suite Assets Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Civil Engineer designation, or registration or eligibility for ASET (C.Tech., C.E.T., or P.Tech.)
