ABOUT RESOLVE PLASTICS RECYCLING

Resolve Plastics Recycling Ltd., headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, is at the forefront of Canada’s circular economy. We are pioneering a new process to transform post-consumer plastic into a building material.
The RPMachine employs a non-emitting process to convert up to 3 tonnes of post-consumer plastic per hour into dense plastic R-Blocks. The RPMachine is the only PRT that can process 100% of unsorted, unwashed plastic waste (RIC 1-7) in a single pass. The magic of the RPMachine is that the input is highly variable feedstock yet the output provides a consistent product that meets rigorous specifications.
R-Blocks are the same size and shape as conventional cinder blocks but have advantages of being a) less fragile, b) more insulative, c) easier to work with (cut, drill, or screw), d) very inexpensive to produce. R-Blocks are a suitable replacement for Concrete Masonry Units (“CMUs”) and other building materials in many applications. They are fully recyclable and have a very low product carbon footprint. Blocks produced by previous prototype machines have been tested for properties including flammability, compressibility, and deemed suitable for construction of buildings up to 3 storeys.
The RPMachine is the first design that will operate in a continuous cycle, increasing processing speed by a factor of 10X and energy efficiency by 4X over the previous generation prototype, making the RPMachine the only cost-effective circular technology for mixed plastics. It will turn waste into a useful building product for less than the cost of landfill. R-Blocks may be sold to provide additional revenue.
We are currently piloting new components and are working to refine designs for these components and incorporate them into a full-scale RPMachine design. We are seeking a creative problem solver and CAD designer to add to our team.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a CAD Designer, you will play a key role in documenting and helping to improve the design of the RPMachine. You will create accurate, production-ready 3D CAD drawings. You’ll work on everything from custom machinery to plastic processing components.
This is a remote position, with periodic in-person meetings in Calgary, Alberta.
