Quest Metal Products is seeking a CAD Designer to join our manufacturing team. Reporting to the CAD Design Supervisor, this role is responsible for producing accurate, high-quality CAD drawings that support the design, fabrication, and installation of custom stainless steel foodservice equipment. The CAD Designer plays a key role in translating customer specifications and sketches into detailed models, assemblies, and production-ready drawings, helping ensure efficient fabrication and successful project delivery. What You’ll Do: * Prepare, maintain, and update installation drawings, including revisions to reflect design changes * Create 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and 2D metal layout drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD * Generate complete and accurate Inventor drawings from AutoCAD drawings and/or hand-drawn sketches * Incorporate best shop assembly and fabrication practices into designs to maximize production efficiency * Ensure drawings include complete Bills of Materials (BOMs) for each fabricated fixture, including non-sheet metal components * Maintain design documentation such as notes, calculations, drawings, BOMs, design parameters, and performance guarantees for future reference * Collaborate with Managers and/or Foreman to develop and apply installation and shop drawing standards that meet or exceed customer requirements during bid and submittal phases * Implement approved guidelines and requirements on drawings issued to customers * Support CAD data management practices and support effective workflow and workload coordination within the CAD department Where You'll Work This role is based in our Winnipeg office, where you’ll work closely with our Layout team and in close proximity to the manufacturing team. What You Bring Education and Experience * Post-secondary education in Mechanical Design, Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor and Vault, or similar parametric modeling software * Previous experience designing or drafting manufactured products; experience with stainless steel kitchen equipment is considered an asset Skills and Abilities * Strong understanding of design principles, manufacturing techniques, and metal fabrication processes * Ability to produce accurate models and layout drawings from customer specifications and sketches * Proven ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings * High level of attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy * Effective time management skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general PC-based software * Clear and professional communication skills, including listening, written, and verbal communication Core Competencies * Self-Motivation: Takes initiative and demonstrates ownership of work * Problem Solving: Identifies issues and develops practical, effective solutions * Collaboration: Works effectively within a team environment and cross-functionally * Accountability: Delivers accurate work and follows through on commitments * Continuous Improvement: Incorporates feedback and best practices to improve designs and processes Our Commitment to Inclusion Russell Hendrix welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
