Description

Adecco is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior CAD Designer to support the development of advanced engineering solutions for our client in Cambridge, ON. This 6-month contract role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design of next-generation satellite communication systems. The successful candidate will use CREO CAD software to create detailed mechanical models and drawings, collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team.

  • Pay rate: $45/hour.
  • Location: Cambridge, ON
  • Shifts: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Job type: 6-month contract | Full-time

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • 4-6 years of mechanical design experience, ideally in aerospace, telecommunications, or precision engineering
  • Proficiency in CREO CAD software
  • Solid understanding and application of GD&T
  • Knowledge of machining processes and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • CGP clearance is required

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with Optical, Thermal, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers to design structural and alignment components for laser-based satellite ground stations
  • Create, modify, and maintain solid models, machining, and assembly drawings using CREO CAD
  • Design and improve products for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to meet high-precision engineering standards
  • Evaluate and validate designs to optimize cost-performance balance
  • Support prototype builds and interface with manufacturing teams
  • Provide mentorship and direction to junior designers or drafters as needed
  • Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to engineering standards
  • Participate in design strategy using engineering judgement and real-world manufacturing insight
