EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES

  • Post-secondary school certificate or an Associate’s Degree.
  • 3-5 years of documented CAD experience may be considered instead of education.
  • Strong computer literacy and mechanical aptitude required.
  • 3- 5 Years drafting experience with Solidworks preferred. Similar experience in 3D CAD will be considered.
  • Other – e.g., customer service, sales, product knowledge, metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing environment, SDS2, or AutoCAD.
  • In an emergency situation, or to meet an unexpected deadline, you may be asked to come into work, respond to customer calls, or go to a worksite outside your regularly scheduled hours.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to work with the following software packages or must have the following experience:

  • CAD/CAM/CNC ü Microsoft Access
  • SolidWorks, DraftSight, SDS2 ü Microsoft Excel
  • ProNest, Flashcut, PeddiMat

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all Troy Industrial Solutions Processes, Procedures, Standards and Safety requirements.
  • Uses current CAD tools to create 3D models and 2D drawings based on customer and production expectations.
  • Uses standard Drafting best practices and Structural Steel Detailer guidelines.
  • Reviews and verifies all CAD work ensuring compliance to Project Manager’s intent, manufacturer’s specifications, and applicable standard practices.
  • Ensures production packages are delivered with the highest level of quality, on time and on budget.
  • Communicates project status, questions, and concerns with Design Manager, those involved with assigned projects and Co-workers.
  • Documents and reports changes or modifications to drawings, records, etc.
  • Assists sales, Project Managers and others in field measurements as necessary.
  • Assists Design Department and others with process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external constituents.
  • Demonstrates a positive, “can-do”, collaborative attitude.
  • Maintains professional, positive, safe and healthy working environment for others in department.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing fundamental related job objectives as needed or assigned.
