You have completed a High school diploma or equivalent with completed coursework in drafting and CAD. An A.A. degree may substitute for equivalent years of work experience. You have worked in a related role for at least 8 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a CAD Drafter / 3D Modeler in Pickering, Ontario (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the IBC - Design Engineering Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. We are seeking TWO skilled and detail-oriented candidates with expertise in Revit and a strong understanding of BIM. Your work will include contributing to the design, modeling, and drafting of projects by creating precise and comprehensive CAD drawings and 3D models. We are in search of one draftsperson to support EACH the Civil / Structural Engineering group, and the Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls Engineering group. You will collaborate with the engineering teams and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocol.

Your Opportunities and Key Responsibilities will include

  • Drafting and Modeling
  • Develop 2D CAD drawings and detailed 3D models using Revit, AutoCAD, or similar software.
  • Produce accurate layouts, assemblies, and details for nuclear plant projects, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and I&C elements.
  • Maintain adherence to project specifications, standards, and timelines.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to interpret design intent and incorporate feedback.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure model consistency and resolve design conflicts.
  • Documentation and Standards
  • Prepare, review, and revise technical drawings, building information model and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, and nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Data Management
  • Maintain version control of design files and documentation.
  • Manage Revit models within collaborative platforms, such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Cintoo.
  • Quality Assurance
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all models and drawings.
  • Verify that designs meet project and safety specifications or nuclear applications.
  • Technical Support
  • Provide support for CAD and Revit tools, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Train team members on best practices in drafting and modeling, as needed.
