Position Overview
The CAD Draftsman / Designer will play a key role in preparing accurate and detailed site, utility, and floorplan drawings to support ongoing development, leasing, and construction efforts. This position requires expertise in AutoCAD, strong knowledge of site planning and construction documentation, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other project managers.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional CAD drafting/design experience, preferably in civil or commercial site planning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD;Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, and file-sharing platforms is prefered.
- Solid understanding of site planning, tenant communication, space plan, design, and construction documentation.
- Understanding of ADA accessibility standards, zoning codes, Title 24 requirements, and permit process.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, update, and maintain site plans, floorplans, and “A” Drawings for retail, office, and mixed-use projects.
- Draft tenant improvement drawings, elevations, and construction details to support leasing and build-out activities.
- Support the design and permitting process by preparing accurate, code-compliant construction documents and administering permit process & procedures.
- Maintain as-built documentation and drawing libraries for Tutelian & Co. properties.
- Collaborate with superintendent project managers, architects, interior designers to incorporate revisions and design changes.
- Ensure compliance with ADA standards, city zoning ordinances, and building codes.
- Assist marketing and leasing teams with floorplan graphics for prospective tenants.
- Provide redline updates and drawing revisions for active projects.
- Oversee organization and file management, ensuring drawings and documents are properly maintained, versioned, and accessible to the project team.
Education
- Backelor’s degree required in Drafting & Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, construction management or related discipline a plus.
- Autodesk certifications (AutoCAD / Civil 3D) preferred.

Salary Based Off Experience

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
