JOB SUMMARY

We are working on mouse-like input devices that need to be iteratively modelled for “feel” and ergonomics as well as design for manufacturability. Including designing features into the housing that include PCB, LED lighting, tac switches, encoder wheels and haptic elements. Additionally, design for weight and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, MicroStation, NavisWorks, and SketchUp is essential.
• Experience in mechanical design is highly desirable.
• Ability to draft precise technical drawings with attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as being efficient when working remotely.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey design concepts to team members and clients.
• A degree or certification in CAD design or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proficiency / experience with 3D printing a major plus.
• Interest in computer peripherals and/or gaming enthusiast a plus!

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Cedar Rapids, IA 5240

• Develop and produce detailed 2D and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, and MicroStation.
• Create drawings for mechanical designs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements and specifications.
• Iterative process for feel / ergonomics and Revise designs based on feedback from team members, ensuring all modifications are documented.
• Conduct quality checks on designs to ensure functionality and manufacturability.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports and specifications.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CAD technology to continuously improve design processes.
