Stantec are currently delivering some of Queensland’s largest hospital and Defence Estate projects, along with a strong pipeline of urban projects including land subdivision, affordable housing, education and commercial. We are looking for an enthusiastic CAD professional or civil designer to join our established and growing Buildings Civil team. Our team work on civil engineering only and a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
This role includes civil design and documentation across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning to detailed design and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

DAY TO DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

  • Technical design and documentation utilizing AutoCAD with base level use of 12D or Civil 3D.
  • Preparing conceptual and detailed design documentation sets for projects including land subdivisions, unsealed and sealed road infrastructure, drainage and culverts, sewer & water systems as well as associated infrastructure.
  • Complete, review and validate design drawings and documentation with a high focus on quality
  • Interpret civil design requirements of State Government, Local Government Authorities and private sector clients such as published standards and codes.
  • Design collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers and BIM modelers. Interface with associated disciplines such as transport, planning, survey, traffic, electrical and landscaping
  • Be responsible for project designs and documentation dependent on experience and complexity
  • Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
  • Opportunities for site inspections and field work

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

  • To have a base level background in aspects of civil documentation including bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design within reference to Australian Standards and local South East QLD authority standards.
  • Experience in design and documentation platforms including AutoCAD with a knowledge base in 12D or Civil 3D, along with a desire to grow towards a design role.
  • Experience with stormwater management is favorable (but not essential) including packages such as MUSIC, DRAINS and 12D pit and pipe design.
  • A good understanding and willingness to learn and adhere to Authority application processes
  • Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Due to defence project requirements, it may be necessary to obtain Baseline Security Clearance (company sponsored).
