Description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and schematics that support various engineering projects, primarily within the Smoke Ventilation industry. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD software and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and project managers to ensure accuracy and efficiency in design.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD is essential, ability to use any 3D packages an advantage but not essential.
  • Understanding of technical drawing principles, schematic design & any electrical knowledge is beneficial.
  • Previously worked with sheet metal and/or ductwork manufacturing including laser cutting / profiling a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about design challenges.
  • Good communication skills to effectively convey ideas and updates to team members.
  • Driving license is required
  • CSCS card will eventually be required, training & test will be provided.
    Role is office based in Oadby, Leicester.

Responsibilities
  • Produce schematics & floor plans for our Smoke Ventilation Systems primarily using 2D AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and translate them into precise technical drawings.
  • Review and revise designs based on feedback from team members and clients.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain an organised database of all design documents & issue to clients via various document portals.
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress and address any issues that may arise.
  • Occasionally attend nationwide sites to carry out measured surveys and produce manufacturing drawings based on survey notes.
