Description A computer-aided design (CAD) technician uses CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and models based on designs provided by engineers, architects, or designers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards, while collaborating with project teams to produce construction and manufacturing plans. This position reports to the CAD Supervisor. Supervisory Responsibilities: None FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Requirements Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Interact with Sales, Production and Engineering Departments to modify drawings quickly and accurately during design and/or production processes. Support all departments through a variety of tasks, including proposal, foundation, clearance and engineered drawings. Prepare installation documents; coordinate document distribution to vendors, customers, and job sites. Assist customers with their inquiries via phone or email in a professional manner. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Thorough understanding of industry drafting standards and practices. Ability to work as part of a team and individually on projects. Highly organized and detail oriented. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be disciplined and eager to learn. Education & Experience: CAD Certification or related degree; relevant experience may substitute for certification/education requirement. 2 years of professional work experience in the field of drafting/CAD. Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 95% of the time. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Overtime may be required.
