CAD Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a CAD technician (technical draughtsperson), you will work out a wide range of projects involving fender systems for ships and other maritime applications. Frequently, this will be done on the basis of details/3D models of the ship/project provided by the customer. These fender systems may range from small workboats to large superyachts. No two projects are the same. You will be responsible for drawing/modelling/detailing the project, using Rhinoceros 7 software. You will also inform your colleagues on the shop floor about the projects you have worked out.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Senior vocational education in shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, construction, or similar experience
• Ample experience in 3D drawing with Rhinoceros 7 software
• Experience with calculating and drawing up quotations is preferred
• An eye for quality, a sense of responsibility, accuracy, and independence
• Thorough knowledge of technical drawings
• A team player who communicates easily with customers, suppliers and colleagues
• Preferably at least 3 years’ experience in a similar position
• Experience in making analytical calculations
• A driving licence, category B minimum
• Good command of spoken and written Dutch and/or English.
• No 9-to-5 mentality
• Experience in marine engineering and with AutoCAD is preferred
  As a CAD technician, you need to be flexible, accurate, a team player and have good problem-solving skills. You also need to be hard-working, proactive and capable of working under pressure, be commercially aware, motivated, service-minded, have a clear sense of responsibility and good social and communication skills.
