As a Land Surveying CAD Technician at Weihe Engineers, you’ll work alongside project managers, licensed land surveyors and other technicians. You will be responsible for preparing surveying documents utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D software. In doing so, you will leverage the company’s technical standards while serving as the “initial set of eyes” for monitoring the documents’ quality, completeness, and legibility. Responsibilities will also include identifying surveying components in various documents as well as preparing project-specific information for field crews.

OUR REQUIREMENTS

· CAD experience, relevant CAD experience preparing topographic and boundary survey drawings and other survey documents, a Certificate in a relevant educational program, or an Associate’s degree in computer aided design/drafting. We’ll also consider anyone in process of obtaining a degree or certificate.
· Experience related to construction staking drafting is a plus.
· Proficient in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D basics:
o Import COGO points to survey database and manipulate point styles, layers, and labels
o Utilize prospector to manipulate point groups, survey figures, surfaces, and parcels
o Create and manipulate linework to accurately show property/easement boundaries and site features
o Hatch various areas to represent concrete asphalt, grass, etc. for final survey drawing
o Annotate survey drawings to clarify and highlight monuments and other pertinent information

· Execute with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
· Planning skills that allow for a logical approach to compiling and translating data into a process that results in the efficient production of survey documents.
· Provide quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) regarding the overall appearance of the land survey documents, completeness of the information, and accuracy of the information utilizing the Weihe Engineers’ Standards Manual as well as any specific department related checklists.
· Ability and willingness to research and propose new or innovative approaches to improve the document preparation process.
· Strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills that allow for professional levels of communication with staff.
· Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to meet project deadlines within established budgets.
· Willingness to assist others as needed and assigned by the Project Manager.
· Strong mathematical background, particularly geometry.
· Desire personal and professional growth to become a mentor to new and less experienced technicians to improve their skills and overall department efficiency.
