Job Overview: CAD Technician
We are a leading provider of composite steel decking, in-situ concrete slabs and raised access flooring and work nationally with blue-chip main contractors in the commercial, education, healthcare and leisure sectors and due to our continuing expansion we are now looking to recruit an experienced CAD Technician to join our busy drawing office at our head office in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

Your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Using AutoCAD to produce layouts for composite floor systems and roof decking.
  • Amending AutoCAD drawings to suit comments received.
  • Liaising with Steel Contractors, Structural Engineers and Architects.
  • Copying and issuing of project documents.
  • Producing cut list for materials and checking for accuracy.
  • Downloading and uploading drawings and documents on portals such as 4 Projects, Asite and Aconex.

The successful candidate shall possess the following;

  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD (essential) Tekla/REVIT knowledge would also be advantageous.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and in a high pressure environment.
  • Effective multi-tasking and organisational skills.
  • A good level of written English.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C grade including Maths and English and ideally have a construction related level 4 qualification.

Hours of work are 8.00 am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm Friday, with 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory bank holidays, although due to the nature of the work you may be required to work outside of these hours if necessary.
