Description
Technique, Inc. is looking for a CAD Technician to join our team at our Jackson, Michigan facility. Employees in this position will be responsible for the CAD designing process, using customer blueprints to create CAD models, verifying customer-provided CAD models to prints and GD&T standards, creating prototype component and assembly prints, designing check fixtures, and assisting prototype technicians to set up machines per CAD model specifications. The ideal candidate is a community college or trade school graduate who is looking to continue to learn and grow. They bring CAD experience in a manufacturing environment with proficiency in SolidWorks, TruTops, and Draftsight. A good working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read and understand CMM reports is a critical factor in this role. Responsibilities: Create 2D blanks – Create 2D blanks for bending applications. Create and adjust CAD models – Create/adjust 2D and 3D models to meet customer requirements. Create CAD models from customer blueprints and verify customer CAD models to customer blueprints. Set up new jobs – Work with customer-supplied data to set up new jobs; assist prototype technicians. Prepare job folders and work instructions – Prepare job folders and work instructions for manufacturing technicians. Design fixtures and gauges – Design basic restraining gauges and check fixtures to assist quality inspections. Generate BOMs – Generate bills of materials (BOMs) for jobs. Communicate with stakeholders – Communicate professionally and helpfully with suppliers, customers, and other employees. Provide technical feedback – Provide technical feedback on potential design risks and product performance issues. Review engineering changes – Review engineering changes from customers to change internal job routing. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, vocational training 2–3 years of CAD experience in a manufacturing environment 2 years of experience designing weld fixtures Must be able to use SolidWorks, TruTops, and Draftsight Good working knowledge of GD&T Able to read and understand CMM reports Basic knowledge of standard shop equipment and manufacturing processes Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Self-managing, independent worker Excellent communication skills Must be eligible to work in the United States About Technique, Inc.: Technique, Inc. is a Michigan-based precision sheet metal and welded assemblies manufacturer serving aerospace, defense, automotive, motorsports, medical, and food processing industries.
