Description Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington with offices throughout the West Coast specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. We are looking for an experienced Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician to join our fast-paced team in the Spokane area. Job duties include the plan and profiles of roads, utilities, creation of alignments, cross sections, details, and horizontal plans. Experience in Telecom and Power Line Utility Construction is a plus. What’s in it for you? Weekly pay! Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard. Preferred 2 years of previous CAD experience. A Certificate or Associate Degree in Drafting in a plus. Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications and Visio. Experience in ArcGIS Pro or AutoCAD. In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products and networking. Ability to use hand held GPS unit. Ability to work independently with solid problem solving and communication skills. Solid experience with researching, collecting and analyzing data. Produce and maintain high quality drawings and drafting by exhibiting strict attention to detail. Plot, scan and create PDFs of documents and drawings to support the project team. Follow drawing standard and printing procedures as set out by the client. May require at times working outside collecting field data to support drawings. Maintain a working knowledge of customer procedures and standards regarding drawing modifications and submittals. Strong attention to detail. Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work. Schedule: Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday. Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Employment is contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment screen, to include a drug test and an acceptable driving record. This is a safety sensitive position.
Responsibilities
The CAD Technician will be responsible for creating plans and profiles of roads and utilities, including alignments, cross sections, and horizontal plans. The role may also involve field data collection to support drawings and maintaining high-quality drafting standards.
