We’re looking for a Cafe and Retail Assistant to join our team. If you're passionate about teamwork and working in a dynamic aviation environment, we’d love to hear from you. MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB Provide excellent customer service. Help drive sales and increase overall turnover across the Cafe and Retail department. Prepare food to specified guidelines and ensure the cafe delivers the highest standards of food safety, maintaining our 5 star rating. Increase profit margins by reducing wastage through good practices. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Comply with food safety standards by completing all cleaning, regular checks and audits on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Make all food and drinks to the prescribed recipe specifications. Recognising every ingredient and allergens related to these ingredients. Raise awareness of said allergens in all recipes. Check all display cards and menus reflect the various allergens of each product and carry the correct information, in line with Natasha’s Law. Complete a variety of food options to meet dietary requirements to increase consumer choice. Have an awareness of short-dated food stock. Actively prepare options using these foods to reduce wastage. Keeping your work area clean, tidy and free of hazards. Report all incidents, as well as those that may jeopardise your own safety or that of others. Consistently offer great service through a pleasant and positive attitude towards all customers. Quickly adapt to differing customer needs, wants and demands. React to these to maximise sales using a combination of selling techniques. Ensure all products are stock rotated, well displayed and organised to maximise sales and minimise wastage. Checking deliveries when receiving goods to establish any discrepancies. Report these discrepancies and missed deliveries to management in a timely manner. Assist in monthly stocktakes. Ensure all stock is counted accurately, to give the business a clear understanding of stock on hand. Undertake and complete all mandatory induction training that is required and complying with the standards set out in this training. Understand all security protocols and the impacts these have on the operations of the Café and Retail department. Offer assistance to the Passenger Services department to support their operations. RULES AND PROCEDURES To be aware of and adhere to applicable rules, regulations, legislation and procedures which are governed by Cornwall Airport Ltd. e.g. Equal Opportunities Policy, Code of Conduct, national legislation (Health & Safety, Data Protection). To maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department. To be responsible for your own self-development, undertaking training as appropriate. To undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post, as required.
