Altitude is an independent coffee bar on Cranleigh High Street. Based around the concept of bringing the outdoors in and themed heavily on mountains, trees and lakes, we are fun, different and offer a rewarding place to work.

PERMANENT POSITION ONLY - NO TEMP OR HOLIDAY WORK

Please note that this role works on a shift pattern. We are seeking an experienced customer-facing all-rounder to work around 40 hours each week. Days will vary from week-to-week and will include both weekdays and weekends. Rotas are published fortnightly in advance.
This role is for a general all-rounder. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of 12-months hospitality experience. The successful candidate will help with all aspects of running the shop, from taking orders at the till, to delivering drinks orders and helping with the shop open and shut down.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Aged over 18 due to licensing requirements
  • A happy, friendly personality
  • Previous hospitality experience preferred (but not essential)
  • Customer-facing experience in a previous role essential
  • Knowledge of food preparation and food safety practices is a bonus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence and a bubbly personality
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Evidence of being a team player in previous job roles
Responsibilities
  • Greet customers in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Provide product information and recommendations
  • Prepare milkshakes, smoothies and alcoholic beverages (this is not a barista role - you do not need to be barista-trained)
  • Prepare and serve food, including ice creams from our sister-store ‘Peaks’
  • Process customer orders and payments accurately
  • Handle customer complaints or issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Ensure displays are fully stocked at all times
  • Make sure the shop floor is always clean and tidy
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations
  • Good old-fashioned cleaning!
