JOB SUMMARY

Cedar International Services is seeking 1 full-time Cafe Assistant / Barista. As a valued member of our culinary team, the Cafe Assistant will work Monday through Friday, 6am to 2pm, and will support daily operations by ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and customer care. This role is essential in creating a welcoming and seamless dining experience, assisting in both back-of-house preparation and front-of-house service with attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
• Commitment to excellence in food quality, safety, and customer service.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to service.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and
  reaching.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Standing for long periods (up to 8–10 hours a day)
• Lifting and carrying heavy items (up to 50 pounds — things like bulk ingredients, equipment,

or full trays)

• Bending, reaching, and stooping frequently
• Ability to work in an (indoor) cafeteria setting or in a kitchen environment (hot).
• Repetitive motion; Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Good vision and hearing (important for safety and communication)
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently (especially during busy service times)

• Prepare, assemble, and serve meals with precision, adhering to established recipes and portion standards.
• Ensure food presentation meets the quality and aesthetic standards of the establishment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas, including workstations, dining areas, and service equipment.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant kitchen environment.
• Provide courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service to guests, assisting with questions and special requests.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to support efficient, high-quality meal production and service.
• Assist with inventory management, restocking, and supply organization to ensure operational readiness.
• Uphold a positive and professional demeanor, contributing to a welcoming and teamoriented atmosphere.
