Cornerstone Cafe is looking for a great team player to join us at the Canmore Nordic Centre. We are currently looking for an experienced Cafe Attendant/Barista to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. Reasonably priced staff accommodation is available for full-time staff in this position.

EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for someone with previous kitchen experience, having worked as a kitchen assistant or prep cook; experience working as a barista or server would also be beneficial. The person in this role needs to be customer-focused, enjoy interacting with the public, and be punctual and reliable. The working environment involves working within a small team or sometimes independently.
ProServe certification is required in this role. Preference will be given to those who have a food handling certificate and a current WHMIS certificate.

• Greeting customers to Cornerstone Cafe.
• Serving customers and preparing specialty beverages.
• Serving sandwiches, soups, chilis, and other food items.
• Assisting with the preparation/cooking of soups, chilis, baked goods, and other food items for the Cafe and events.
• Using various commercial kitchen equipment, such as a grill, deep fryers, griddle, food processors, etc. to make items on the Cafe menu.
• Following all food handling regulations and complying with all company policies and procedures.
• Washing dishes using a commercial dishwasher.
• Accepting payment for purchases.
• Performing a cash-out at the end of each shift.
• Informing the Cafe Supervisor or Chef when stock is running low.
• Keeping the cafe clean and tidy during shift and cleaning the area at the end of the day.
• Responding immediately and appropriately to any situations, including emergency situations, that may arise at the Cafe.
