Description

Edison & Doyle is Truro’s inventive café bar located in the most historic part of Truro. We are looking for great people to join our team to support us with our increasingly busy demands.
At the heart of it all will be a warming smile and great service – but you’ll also add some nostalgic magic to everything to ensure that what we do adds value for our guests.
You will need to demonstrate to us that you will want to work in an exceptional team who strive to achieve better than the mediocrity so often found elsewhere.
We will be selective in our needs to bring together a positive and fun-loving team who will want to all naturally strive to be outstanding across all measures and in turn see our guests return time again.
We will also want to ensure that you enjoy what you do and provide the balance you need to ensure functionality is reasonably basic, less process driven and more than ever – enjoyable to work in.
All of our senior positions are selected from within, so the opportunity to hold additional responsibilities starts with an application as a café assistant. This starting position is multi-functional and you will assist in all areas of running the operation as and when the demands require – so you may be a FOH host, barista, waiter, washer and assist the kitchen in food preparation all in the one shift!
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have previous experience of working in a customer facing role – ideally in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You will also be confident in speaking in front of groups of people and assisting our guests every step of the way.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not required;
  • Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and calculating bills;
  • Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and team members effectively;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude;
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in taking orders and delivering exceptional service.
    We apologise (because it’s not in our nature) but we are unable to respond to everyone individually. We will only reach out to successful shortlisted applicants.
