Line Manager: Reports directly to Duty Manager Position Summary: As a Café Assistant, your primary role is to deliver excellent and efficient service in our café, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining high standards of hygiene. This position requires smart appearance, atenttive listening, and proactive initiative to provide outstanding customer service. There may be instances when you will be the sole responsible person on a shift, requiring effective management of the café while prioritizing hygiene practices. Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service: * Greet customers in a warm and friendly manner. * Take and process customer orders accurately and efficiently. * Provide recommendations and answer customer inquiries regarding menu items and allergen information. * Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing any concerns or issues.
2. Food and Beverage Preparation: * Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, such as coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks, following recipes and quality standards. * Prepare and serve food items, such as sandwiches, pastries, pizzas, and snacks. * Operate espresso machines, blenders, and other café equipment in a safe and efficient manner. * Ensure all food and beverage items are prepared and presented according to established guidelines and quality standards.
3. Cash Handling and Register Operation: * Accurately process cash, credit, and debit card transactions using the POS system.
4. Café Maintenance and Cleanliness: * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including dining areas, beverage preparation stations, and restrooms. * Clean and sanitize café equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly. * Stock and replenish café supplies, such as cups, lids, napkins, and condiments. * Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs to the café manager.
5. Teamwork and Collaboration: * Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth café operations. * Support and assist colleagues during busy periods or when necessary. * Maintain open and effective communication with team members and management. Qualifications and Skills: * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writen. * Proactive and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. * Confident and enjoy working with people in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Additional Information: The role may involve working in other areas upon management or Duty Managers request during scheduled café shifts. Typically, you will be responsible for opening or closing the café and maintaining standards throughout your assigned shift.
