JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a keen interest in food preparation and service. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring that all food safety standards are met. Your responsibilities will include assisting with catering services, serving customers, and preparing delicious food items and hot drinks.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe environment is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in catering or barista roles would be advantageous.
• A strong understanding of food preparation techniques and food safety practices is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality.
• Assist with catering events, including setting up and breaking down service areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including dining spaces and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, if required.
• Stay informed about menu items, specials, and promotions to effectively communicate with customers.
