RSPCA Llys Nini Carmarthenshire to Cardiff is an independently registered charity (registered charity number 224337) affiliated to, but not directly funded, by the RSPCA.
RSPCA Llys Nini provides animal welfare throughout Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, parts of Rhondda Cynon Taff and Cardiff council areas. Llys Nini helps hundreds of animals each year. Its main aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abused and unwanted animals.
RSPCA Llys Nini has a Cafe and Community Activity resource centre – Yr Ysgubor. We are building up our team in the popular café, it has become.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our cafe. Your main responsibilities will include food preparation, customer assistance, till work, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages to customers
- Assist customers with menu selection and provide recommendations
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, including dining area, kitchen, and restrooms
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene practices
- Stock inventory and monitor supplies to ensure availability
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or issues in a professional manner
Qualifications:
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is preferred but not required
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
- Knowledge of food safety regulations is a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Welsh
