Responsibilities

CORE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, beer, and cocktail bar, including operational readiness, staff management, inventory control, and customer service.

  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise cafe and bar staff, ensuring high standards of performance, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Financial Management: Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability, and implement strategies to maximise revenue and minimise costs.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal levels.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with management and staff to develop and update menu offerings, ensuring they align with customer preferences and market trends.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and alcohol service laws, maintaining a safe and legal environment for patrons and staff.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Contribute to marketing and promotional strategies to attract new customers and increase sales.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY FEATURES OF THE ROLE:

Previous experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe, bar, or restaurant setting.

  • A bachelor’s degree or industry training in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a track record of driving results and achieving business objectives.
  • Ability to lead by example, setting high standards for customer service, professionalism, and performance.
  • Understanding of local regulations and laws governing the operation of cafes, bars, and restaurants.
