About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, creative, and reliable chef who will lead the kitchen in delivering high-quality breakfast and lunch menus. The role requires strong skills in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations. You will be central to maintaining the café’s reputation for excellence while contributing your own creativity to seasonal specials and signature dishes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast, brunch, and lunch meals.
  • Create seasonal menu items that align with the café’s style and customer preferences.
  • Prepare display food items for front of the house sales
  • Ensure consistent food presentation, portion control, and taste.
  • Manage stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in line with NSW Food Safety standards.
  • Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff.
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

About You

  • Proven experience as a café/restaurant chef (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong skills in breakfast and brunch-style menus.
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (advantageous).
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours.
  • Creativity in designing dishes while managing food costs effectively.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
  • Skilled in gluten-free cooking and menu desig

Pay: $65,000.00 – $76,000.00 per year
