OVERVIEW:

As a Café Cook, you’ll be at the heart of our kitchen, preparing and presenting high-quality food with care and consistency. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the daily running of our café kitchen, helping to deliver a great experience for our guests while maintaining high standards in food hygiene and kitchen organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a range of café dishes including breakfasts, sandwiches, soups, salads, and sweet treats, ensuring they meet our quality and presentation standards.
  • Assist in planning and preparing daily specials and seasonal menu options with input from the wider team.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in line with dietary requirements, customer preferences, and portion controls.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, safe, and well-organised at all times, following health and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels and alert the team when ingredients or supplies need replenishing.
  • Minimise waste through efficient prep and portioning, contributing to cost-effective operations.
  • Take part in the development of new menu ideas and support with occasional events and promotions.
  • Carry out daily kitchen tasks including set-up and close-down procedures, equipment cleaning, and temperature checks.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude, working well with other team members to create a smooth-running and friendly kitchen environment.
  • Respond politely to customer queries relating to food, allergens, or special requests.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards at all times.
  • Take on other kitchen duties as required by café management.
