Description Café Coordinator / Job Coach Location: Clarksville, TN Schedule: Full-time | Typically 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (hours may vary) Pay: Based on experience Join a team where good food meets good purpose. Progressive Directions, Inc. is looking for a hands-on Café Coordinator / Job Coach to lead daily operations at our Common Ground Café — a mission-driven café that provides meaningful work experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities. This role blends leadership, customer service, and mentoring in one dynamic, people-centered position. What You’ll Do Oversee day-to-day café operations — from food service and scheduling to vendor coordination and supply ordering. Maintain compliance with all Tennessee Department of Health standards and safety requirements. Lead and coach café staff and interns to deliver top-notch customer service. Manage catering requests, pricing, and execution for events. Plan menu specials and collaborate with team members on creative, cost-effective options. Support and mentor individuals with disabilities through hands-on job coaching and skill development. Track progress, complete required state reports, and communicate with families or guardians. Requirements What We’re Looking For Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: 6+ months teaching or training persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities required. Prior experience in food service, restaurant management, or job coaching preferred. Skills: Strong leadership and organizational abilities. Excellent communication and multitasking. POS (Square preferred), cash handling, and inventory control. Must have a valid TN, KY, or AL driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clear background check. Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and maintain a fast-paced workflow.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations at the café, ensuring compliance with health standards and leading staff to deliver excellent customer service. Support individuals with disabilities through job coaching and skill development while managing catering requests and menu planning.
