We want to meet you!   We are seeking an experienced Cafe Manager for our Gorsuch Ski Cafe's located at top of Bridge Street in Vail Village.  This is an iconic location just a few steps away from Gondola One at the base of Vail Mountain.  The Gorsuch ski cafes are a gathering place in the heart of Vail where you can start your day with great coffees and food and complete your day with Old World Beer, Schnapps or wine. The Cafes are seamlessly integrated into our beautiful retail store and provides the perfect mountain community experience.          About the Role: The Cafe Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a cafe to ensure a high-quality customer experience and efficient business performance. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The manager will develop and implement strategies to increase sales, control costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. They will also handle administrative tasks such as purchasing, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting. Ultimately, the Cafe Manager plays a critical role in creating a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business and fosters a positive team culture. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the food service or hospitality industry. * Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Preferred Qualifications: * Associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field. * Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software. * Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe). * Demonstrated success in driving sales and managing budgets. * Leadership training or experience in team development. Responsibilities: * Supervise and coordinate daily cafe operations to ensure smooth and efficient service. * Recruit, train, and manage cafe staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. * Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships to maintain stock and control costs. * Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and company policies. * Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities to attract and retain customers. * Manage financial aspects including budgeting, cash handling, and sales reporting. * Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction. * Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Skills: The Cafe Manager uses leadership and communication skills daily to effectively manage and motivate the team, ensuring excellent customer service. Organizational skills are essential for scheduling staff, managing inventory, and maintaining compliance with regulations. Financial acumen is applied to budgeting, cost control, and analyzing sales data to make informed business decisions. Problem-solving skills are critical when addressing customer concerns or operational challenges promptly. Additionally, marketing and promotional skills help the manager to attract new customers and build a loyal client base.
