We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our ’Oties’ cafe at Old Thorns Hotel & Resort. Oties is our trendy American style diner offering pancakes, waffles, ice cream, coffee, smoothies, milkshakes and sandwiches.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality and can lead our existing cafe friendly team in providing our customers with an unforgettable experience.
You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organisational and communication skills and be passionate and knowledgeable about the products we offer. This is a hands-on, operational role and will suit someone who wants to work with a friendly and hardworking team in a modern trendy cafe environment.

Responsibilities
  • To supervise cafe staff and ensure the highest levels of quality and standards of service
  • To have a good knowledge and understanding of all hotel facilities, outlets and services available
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all applicable food menus and beverages available. This will include the preparation and service of all products
  • To ensure the cafe is clean and presentable at all
  • To follow all cafe procedures, i.e. ’opening and closing duties’
  • To exercise effective stock rotation and maintain stock levels in accordance with hotel policy
  • To participate with product stock counts and ensure good results are achieved in line with budget guidelines
  • To lead and motivate team members in order to obtain maximum commitment.
  • To assist with the provision and recording of continuous training for all staff in order that the team may further develop their skills and meet the standards of performance.
  • To act as a role model, demonstrating a professional attitude at all times, particularly with regard to punctuality, appearance and general manner.
