Our cafe is at the heart of our Hawkesley Community Centre and we have a great opportunity for someone looking to put their cooking and hospitality experience to use in the community.
We want everyone who uses our cafe to feel welcome and enjoy their experience. To achieve this we need someone who is confident in delivering a variety of meals with the creativity to work on daily / weekly specials that will have people coming back for more!
Working with both the Catering Services Manager and the Centre Coordinator this is an opportunity for someone who is self-assured to work alone and also as part of a wider team.
The successful candidate will need to have minimum of:-
Food Safety Level 2
Food Allergy and Intolerance
Work with Catering Services Manager to review and adapt menu by creating daily specials.
Prepare, cook and serve meals and drinks efficiently.
Safely store food, rotate stock, monitor ‘use by’ dates
Build and maintain good rapport with customers, centre hirers and other teams
Ensure kitchen operations comply with Environmental Health and Health and Safety regulations and maintain accurate records.
Work with Centre Coordinator and colleagues to ensure smooth running of centre events and activities.
Set up and clean kitchen at the beginning and end of each shift.
Immediately report incidents involving citizens, staff, or visitors to the Centre Coordinator.
Support Volunteers in the café environment.
To work within all the agreed policies and procedures of Age Concern Birmingham.
A DBS will be required for this role
