Job Description
The Cafeteria Attendant is focused on delivering high-quality engaging service and maintaining exceptional standards in the staff dining areas, as set by the Food & Beverage leadership team. Cafeteria Attendants ensure that all food stations are well-stocked, clean, and inviting, providing a welcoming environment for colleagues during their breaks. They will assist with food preparation, beverage service, and overall cleanliness of the cafeteria, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and engaging with the ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates initiative, multitasking skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain exceptional cleanliness and service standards under pressure.
  • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift, and perform regular bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying.
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality environments considered an asset.
  • Valid Food Handler Certificate preferred
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the cafeteria is opened prior to meal service, with all equipment turned on and ready.
  • Order, stock, and restock items as required for cafeteria operations, following established inventory procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming lunchroom by wiping tables, counters, and emptying catch trays; sweeping and mopping floors; and performing other cleaning duties as required.
  • Restock clean dishes, flatware, and trays once returned by Stewarding, ensuring proper sanitation and storage practices are followed.
  • Replenish condiments, salad bar items, and other pre-prepped foods in accordance with food hygiene standards.
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks as required, following approved recipes and preparation guidelines.
  • Brew fresh coffee throughout the day, ensuring quality and timely availability.
  • Stamp meal cards for colleagues purchasing lunch, track sales, and manage meal card inventory in line with cashiering procedures.
  • Unpack, store, and rotate supplies according to proper food safety and storage protocols.
  • Organize and maintain bussing stations by scraping, stacking, and preparing items for Stewarding.
  • Close the lunchroom by discarding and putting away foods, turning off and cleaning equipment.
