Description

Job Description: Work with the cafeteria team in daily preparation, packaging and serving of planned menu items for distribution during approved times. Shift: Thursday to Sunday - 7:00am to 5:30pm Essential Functions: Create and plan a monthly menu of meals to be prepared and served in a cold prep kitchen. Create and fulfill inventory and supply orders to ensure menu plans are efficiently carried out. Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times. Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use. Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping produce, cutting meat, and other meal prep. Maintains compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling and hygiene codes. Assists with unloading, inspection and storage of raw ingredients and supplies. Assist with maintenance, cleanliness and stocking of employee breakroom, clean and stocked with necessary meal service utensils, and daily consumables such as coffee, tea, fruit, and condiments. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Experience/Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English. One to two years in a leadership role working in food preparation or serving environment. Basic understanding of food handling and cooking procedures as well as basic sanitation and workplace safety. Able to utilize commercial kitchen equipment, understand and read temperatures Strong attention to detail and quality control Able to work as part of a team and individually Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen. Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
