JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a talented and creative cake and platter Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating, with the ability to create visually stunning platters featuring cakes and other baking delights that impress our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of food safety practices and excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for all clients.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in cake decorating or a similar role within a restaurant or bakery setting is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a baker, cake decorator, or similar role in the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough preparation, and dessert production.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling practices, kitchen operations, and food safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in various cake decorating techniques, including fondant work, piping, and airbrushing.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays during peak seasons.
  • A passion for baking and creativity in designing unique cake concepts.
  • 32 hours per week minimum

Responsibilities
  • Design and decorate platters according to owner specifications and preferences, ensuring high-quality presentation.
  • Prepare and bake a variety of breads, cakes, pastries, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
  • Decorate cakes and other baked goods with precision and creativity, using piping, fondant, and other decorating techniques.
  • Prepare various cake batters, icings, and fillings while adhering to food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with management to understand their vision for special occasions, providing expert advice on design and flavor options.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following all health and safety regulations.
  • Package finished products for delivery or display, ensuring they are presented attractively.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies of baking ingredients and decorating materials.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance decorating skills and stay updated on industry trends.
