TRAFIQ CAFÉ & BAKERY IS HIRING A FULL TIME PASTRY PROFESSIONAL TO JOIN OUR SMALL BAKERY TEAM!

This bakery position is for a candidate who would like to work with Team Cakes.
In our large professional kitchen you will join 3 other team members baking cakes from scratch. This includes baking the bases, assembling the mousse cakes, glazing and icing the cakes and decorating and cutting the cakes. We have a highly organized production schedule to make your work week run smoothly. And, even though hands on training is provided by our pastry chef, we do expect you to begin this job with strong pastry professional skills, especially, having the ability to decorate many cakes per shift with precision and ease. Once you have learned the ropes at Trafiq bakery we hope you will enjoy the stress-free atmosphere, regular work schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 3:30pm, complimentary food and beverage in our lunch room and overall convivial setting that exists here.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Must currently reside in the Lower Mainland to begin work in the next few weeks
  • Pastry School certificate
  • Minimum 1 year working experience cake decorating in a professional kitchen
  • Reliable, professional, high motivated, efficient, and team-oriented
  • Must work in a clean and organized manner
  • Passion to learn and continuously improve your skill-set
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift 20kg
  • Education:
  • Completion of training in baking and pastry
  • Foodsafe Level 1

Responsibilities
  • Decorate cakes with precision and creativity, working within a small team,ensuring high-quality presentation.
  • Prepare and bake various cake types, from scratch, adhering to recipes and food safety standards in order to produce a consistently great product
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following proper food handling practices, that you share with our bakery team
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to share industrial equipment and tools
  • Clean as you go work practice and bakery clean up at the end of every shift
