Cake Finisher Job Summary: The Cake Finisher will assist in decorating cakes and baked goods. Shift: 6:30am to 4:30pm, 5 days per week, 50hrs per week Essential Functions: Trim, cut, and shape cakes to required sizes. Spread icing between layers and on surfaces of cakes. Mix icing, tint icing with coloring. Form designs, figure and write messages on cakes with icing, chocolate, fondant, marzipan, pastillage. Neatly store finished and unfinished cakes to maintain quality. Able to fill and attractively finish layer cakes, including fondant covering and flowers. Decorate cakes following decorating instructions for special orders, especially fondant and gum paste flowers and filigree. Clean and maintain work area, mixing and decorating equipment. Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices. Rotate cakes to ensure freshness (FIFO).
