As the Manager, Capital Assets & Development, you will be responsible for space allocation for existing and new employees, teams and working areas. The position is also responsible for ISO 14001 related environmental programs and Facilities Capital Assets Management. Primary duties include:
- Set annual goals and objectives and monitor progress through meetings and monthly reports.
- Prepare annual and long term operating and capital budgets and review budgets results on a monthly basis with each team.
- Support CPS Facilities Assets Life Cycle Planning and Facilities Costs Analysis.
- Manage Facilities related to Real Estate Contracts, Leases, Rentals and Memorandum Of Understanding.
- Support City of Calgary including Real Estate & Development Services (RE&DS), Land Inventory Data Application (LlnDA) and Off-Site Levy (OSL).
- Issue and approve purchase requisitions, purchase orders and related procurement documents such as Request for Proposals and Business Cases.
- Provide support on large impact projects related to Facilities Capital Assets.
- Coach, mentor and performance manage employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A 2-year diploma in technology and a minimum of 10 years of experience in Facility Space Management, Facility Asset Management (including Life Cycle planning), Facility Operations & Management, Contractor/Construction Management and Business Administration process experience OR;
- A degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management and a minimum of 8 years of in Facility Space Management, Facility Asset Management (including Life Cycle planning), Facility Operations & Management, Contractor/Construction Management and Business Administration is accepted as an equivalency.
- Related certifications including Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), International Facility Management Association (IFMA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) are considered assets.
- Experience with managing public investments supporting infrastructure development would be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires change management, planning and prioritizing, relationship building and strategic thinking. An effective communicator with strong leadership skills and the ability to manage resources.
