ABOUT YOU

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated medical professional to join our trauma service team. To thrive in this role, you will possess the following attributes:

  • Relevant Qualifications & Experience: MBBS or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified, with clinical experience in trauma, preferably at a Senior RMO or Registrar level.
  • Clinical & Communication Skills: Strong clinical skills suitable for trauma service duties, coupled with excellent interpersonal communication and the ability to work autonomously or in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Leadership & Teaching Abilities: Proven experience in supervising staff and mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
  • Commitment to Quality & Patient Care: A sound understanding of trauma management, quality improvement, and research principles, with a strong respect for patient rights and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a key member of our Trauma Service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional clinical care to trauma patients, ensuring the highest standards are met in every aspect of patient management. You will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the effective and efficient delivery of care across the hospital. This role will see you actively involved in the assessment and management of severely injured trauma patients, working closely with the Trauma Team Leader to ensure optimal outcomes.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will play a vital role in the education and development of Medical Students, Trainee Medical Officers, and, where appropriate, Nursing and Allied Health staff. You will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of services by participating in clinical audits, quality and safety initiatives, and clinical risk management activities. Opportunities for involvement in research and continuous medical education will further support your professional growth and development in this dynamic and rewarding role.
